30 plus degrees within the city! For example at the beach it may be a nice 70 degrees but if you drive 30 minutes north to the valley in can be 100 degrees, or if you drive 16 miles to the east to downtown it maybe 85 degrees.
2. Traffic! Like all big cities LA has its traffic issues, but the good thing is for the most part the traffic is predictable. An example is the interstate 10 which runs east-west from downtown to the ocean is terrible going west in the morning and east starting about 3pm. So plan accordingly to save on road rage. Which leads us to hotels that offer things to do close by.
3. Are you planning to do a lot of driving or do you want to stay somewhere that offers a lot to do within walking distance or possibly even near a metro stop? This is important because you want your stay to be focused on fun and conveinence not traffic and logistics! Some hotels are located in areas that have lots to offer including restaurants, bars, beach activities, shopping and easy exploration of the surrounding areas.
* Disclaimer: As locals it is hard to give great hotel advice- and there are a ton of places to stay, but we will mention those that family and friends have stayed at and those hotels that stand out for one reason or another! If your looking for a list of all the hotels and their amenities you should try Expedia.com or Hotels.com or something of the like.
