We are locals who like to explore this great city, so we look online, in papers, and talk to people, to find new and interesting things to do. We prefer free events (who doesn't right?) and there are quite a few, but that's not always possible so we will post paid events as well if they sound really interesting. We also want to try new and delicious foods, and there is a wide variety of great restaurants to explore. We balance all the great eating with fun outdoor activities like sporting events, running races, biking, hiking, swimming, surfing, and simply walking and exploring!
West LA has something for everyone! From shopping fancy stores to thrift shops, from deep sea fishing to hikes in the mountains, from Japanese BBQ to Brazilian Pizza, there is something you will enjoy!
West Los Angeles is a small part of Los Angeles as a whole. LA is about 500 sq. miles and actually surrounds some cities like Beverly Hills. The beach is about 15 miles away from downtown LA, and that is just the western portion. LA continues for many miles in every other direction from downtown as well.
What defines West LA differs from who you ask, and which website you look on, but this is mine. If I can feel the cool ocean breeze its West LA. This site will mostly cover the area west of La Cienega, including the cities and neighborhoods of Century City, Culver City, Palms, Mar Vista, Playa Vista, Playa Del Rey, Marina Del Rey, Venice and Santa Monica- this may sound like a lot buts its only about 7 miles wide. Culver City, Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey are actually individual cities surrounded by LA but to many they are still West LA.
Seriously, it rarely rains and is sunny most of the time!
Traffic!
Luckily the traffic times are predictable and the metro is under construction!
Whether your a beach bum, night owl, fashonista, or workout junky, there is something for you!.
